honk if you ♥️ jeepney drivers
After WW2, U.S. soldiers left behind thousands of unserviceable Jeeps. Filipinos transformed them into what we know today as the jeepney, a means of affordable public transportation. However, these vehicles are so much more than a way to get around. They are a representation of the Filipino spirit and our ability to create life and art out of destruction.
Today, thousands of jeepney drivers are at risk of losing their livelihood due to a jeepney phaseout. This is the Philippine government’s plan to replace jeepneys with more modernized foreign vehicles. In support of our kababayan back home, we will be donating 20% of all profits from our honk if you ♥️ jeepney drivers collection to Tanggol Pasada Network, an organization that fights for transport workers’ rights. 🇵🇭
